Skyforce Acquires Returning Player Rights To Damien Jefferson

The Sioux Falls Skyforce announced today that the team has acquired the returning player rights to forward Damien Jefferson from the Memphis Hustle. In addition to Jefferson, the Skyforce also acquired the Hustle’s first round pick in the upcoming 2023 NBA G League Draft.

Jefferson, a 6-5, 220-pound forward out of Creighton went undrafted in the 2021 NBA Draft and has played parts of two seasons in the NBA G League, where he has averaged 11.1 points on 47.5 percent shooting (38.1 percent from beyond the arc), 4.3 rebounds and 1.3 assists per 23.6 minutes in 51 games (three starts) between the Stockton Kings and Memphis Hustle.

He posted a career-high 14.3 points on 46.4 percent shooting (41.4 percent from beyond the arc), 4.1 rebounds and 1.7 assists for the Hustle in 18 appearances 2021-22.

Prior to Jefferson’s professional career, he averaged 8.3 points on 50.9 percent shooting, 4.4 rebounds and 1.5 assists per 23.1 minutes a game in 116 appearances (82 starts) between New Mexico (2016-17) and Creighton (2018-2021).

As a senior, Jefferson contributed to a Sweet 16 berth for the Bluejays, as he averaged 11.9 points on 51.2 percent shooting, 5.4 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 0.7 steals per 31.0 minutes in 31 starts.

The Skyforce sent the returning player rights of Mychal Mulder to the Hustle to complete the transaction.
