Skyforce Acquires Returning Player Rights To Alondes Williams

The Sioux Falls Skyforce announced today that the team has acquired the returning player rights to guard Alondes Williams from the Long Island Nets.  

Williams, a 6-4, 205-pound guard out of Wake Forest went undrafted in the 2022 NBA Draft and signed a two-way contract with the Brooklyn Nets on July 4, 2022. He appeared in one regular season game for Brooklyn and averaged 12.3 points on 47.2 percent shooting, 4.1 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 1.0 steal per 27.0 minutes a game in 35 appearances for Long Island between the Showcase Cup and regular season.

He recently played in the 2023 NBA Summer League and California Classic for the Miami HEAT, where he averaged 6.4 points on 47.6 percent shooting, 1.9 rebounds and 1.4 assist per 20.9 minutes a game in five appearances. In the HEAT’s Summer League finale against Portland, Williams secured 14 points on 5-7 FGA (2-3 3PA), four rebounds, four assists and a steal in 33:56 minutes of play.

Prior to his professional career, he averaged 11.1 points on 48.8 percent shooting, 3.9 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 0.8 steals between the University of Oklahoma and Wake Forest University in 90 appearances from 2019-22. As a senior for the Demon Deacons, Williams averaged 16.5 points on 50.7 percent shooting, 6.4 rebounds, 5.2 assists and 1.2 steals per 34.1 minutes in 35 starts.

The Skyforce sent the returning player rights of DJ Stewart to the Nets to complete the transaction.
