SKYFORCE ACQUIRES MYCHAL MULDER

Sioux Falls, SD – The Sioux Falls Skyforce announced today that the team has acquired guard Mychal Mulder via returning player rights.

Mulder, a 6-4, 193-pound guard went undrafted in the 2017 NBA Draft out of Kentucky. He was then the ninth pick of the 2017 NBA G League Draft by the Windy City Bulls.

He appeared in 15 games (two starts) as a two-way player for the Orlando Magic this season, averaging 3.7 points, 1.4 rebounds and 0.2 assists per 13.0 minutes a game. As a part of his two-way deal, he played in two games (two starts) for the Lakeland Magic, averaging 14.5 points, 1.5 rebounds and 1.0 assists in 36.4 minutes per game.

Prior to his time with Orlando and Lakeland this season, Mulder spent parts of two seasons with the Golden State Warriors. Mulder appeared in 60 games (six starts) for Golden State in 2020-21, averaging 5.6 points, 1.0 rebound and 0.4 assists in 60 games (six starts). In 2019-20, he posted a career-high 11.0 points, 3.3 rebounds and 1.1 assists in seven games (three starts).

Mulder earned the 87th NBA Call-Up in Skyforce franchise history to Golden State in the 2019-20 season, where he averaged 16.9 points, 4.5 rebounds and 1.4 assists in 39 games (34 starts). Mulder, who led the G League in three pointers made at the time of his NBA Call-Up (152), was just five short of Duncan Robinson’s single-season franchise record.

He played for the Windy City Bulls from 2017-19, averaging 11.5 points, 4.2 rebounds and 1.6 assists in 95 total games (78 starts).

Prior to his professional career, Mulder spent two seasons at junior college Vincennes University from 2013-15, where he averaged 12.1 points, 5.7 rebounds and 1.8 assists in 72 games (49 starts). He then transferred to Kentucky for two seasons in 2015-17 where he posted 2.6 points, 1.3 rebounds and 0.4 assists in 56 games (two starts).

Mulder, who will wear #4 for the Skyforce, is expected to be available for the team’s home game tonight versus the Texas Legends. Tip-off is slated for 6:30 PM at the Sanford Pentagon.
