SKYFORCE ACQUIRES JAI SMITH

Sioux Falls, SD – The Sioux Falls Skyforce announced today that the team has acquired Jai Smith from the available player pool.

Smith, a 6-9, 215-pound forward out of Overtime Elite went undrafted in the 2022 NBA Draft.

He was the 21st overall pick for the Skyforce in the 2022 NBA G League Draft and appeared in training camp for the team.

The Syracuse, NY native played in one game with the Sacramento Kings in the 2022 NBA Summer League after finishing one season with Overtime Elite. Smith appeared in 24 games at Overtime Elite and averaged 9.4 points, 7.4 rebounds, 1.0 steal and 0.6 blocks per 19.9 minutes a game.

Stanley Johnson earned Sioux Falls’ league-leading fourth NBA Call-Up to complete the transaction.

Smith, who will wear #21 for the Skyforce, is expected to be available for the team’s upcoming games at the 2022 NBA G League Winter Showcase in Las Vegas, NV. Games and times for the games are to be determined.
