SKYFORCE ACQUIRES GALEN ROBINSON JR.

Sioux Falls, SD – The Sioux Falls Skyforce announced today that the team has acquired Galen Robinson Jr. off waivers.

Robinson, a 6-1, 190-pound guard out of Houston went undrafted in the 2019 NBA Draft.

He played the last three seasons with the Austin Spurs, where in 65 appearances (38 starts) Robinson averaged 8.7 points on 50.9 percent shooting (41.0 percent from deep), 4.6 assists and 2.4 rebounds in 22.9 minutes per game. He posted a G League career-high 9.7 points on 49.0 percent shooting (41.7 percent from deep), 2.3 rebounds and 4.1 assists in 22.9 minutes per 27 games (15 starts) in 2021-22.

Robinson has played parts of three seasons overseas, most recently with Chalon-Sur-Saone of the French LNB Pro B League this season, where in nine appearances (four starts), he averaged 9.6 points on 49.3 percent shooting, 1.8 rebounds and 4.0 assists per 22.7 minutes a game.

Prior to his professional career, Robinson played four seasons at the University of Houston, where he appeared in 136 games (119 starts) and averaged 6.8 points on 42.9 percent shooting, 2.8 rebounds and 4.3 assists per 27.7 minutes a game.

Robinson was also named the 2021 NBA G League Jason Collier Sportsmanship Award recipient.

Jamaree Bouyea earned the Skyforce’s seventh (G League leading) NBA Call-Up to the Washington Wizards completed the transaction.

Robinson is expected to be available for the team’s upcoming two-game series at the South Bay Lakers on Monday and Wednesday, with tip-off slated for 9:00 PM CST at the UCLA Health Training Center.
