SKYFORCE ACQUIRES CHANDLER HUTCHISON

Sioux Falls, SD – The Sioux Falls Skyforce announced today that the team has acquired guard Chandler Hutchison from the available player pool. The transaction was complete due to affiliate guard Dru Smith being ruled out for the rest of the season with a knee injury.
Hutchison, a 6-7 guard, was the 22nd pick in the 2018 NBA Draft by the Chicago Bulls.
He appeared in six games with the Phoenix Suns this season as a two-way player, averaging 0.7 points on 50 percent shooting, 0.8 rebounds and 0.3 assists in 3.7 minutes per game.
As a part of his two-way deal, Hutchison played in six games with the Santa Cruz Warriors this season, averaging 6.0 points on 38.9 percent shooting, 2.7 rebounds and 0.8 assists in 21.6 minutes per game.
Prior to his time with Phoenix and Santa Cruz this season, he spent parts of three years in the NBA with the Bulls and Washington Wizards. Hutchison posted a career-high 7.8 points on 45.7 percent shooting, 3.9 rebounds and 0.9 assists in 28 games (10 starts) for the Bulls in 2019-20. He competed in the 2020-21 NBA Play-In Tournament, averaging 3.0 points on 40 percent shooting, 1.5 rebounds and 0.5 assists for the Wizards.
Hutchison played four seasons at Boise State, where he averaged 12.0 points on 47.6 percent shooting, 5.5 rebounds and 2.1 assists in 123 games (87 starts). He was named to the Mountain West All-Conference First Team in 2017 and 2018.
He is expected to be available for the team’s upcoming home game on February 3 against the Agua Caliente Clippers of Ontario. Tip-off is slated for 6:30 PM at the Sanford Pentagon.
