Season Ticket Member Spotlight: Dan Lunder

Ask any past Skyforce player or coach what makes playing home games so special and there is a good chance one of the first things they mention is the crowd, or more specifically the Season Ticket Members.  This season, the Skyforce is shining a light on select members and why they love being a part of FORCE NATION. 

• Why were you interested in purchasing season tickets?
The 2021-2022 season was the first year we purchased season tickets.  My family has enjoyed attending many games over the past several years, but with the world getting a little more back to "normal" following a couple years of living with Covid, last year felt like the right time to purchase season tickets.

• What’s your favorite thing about being a season ticket member?
I love the additional sense of belonging to the Skyforce family that comes with being a season ticket member.  From the familiar faces in the stands, the friendly staff and crew, and getting to know the players, it's more than just attending an event - it's being part of something.  Knowing we have great seats for every game is a bonus!

• What made you chose to become a part of the Skyforce fan base?
The Skyforce players and staff provide a great experience every game, and it's something I wanted for my family to be able to do together again and again.  It's always quality time for our family as well as a great opportunity to treat friends to a fun night out.

• What is your most memorable Skyforce experience?
I had to ask the kids for input on this one, and they reminded me we were all excited the night we won an autographed Martin Krampelj jersey last year.  We framed it and have it displayed in our downstairs family room as a very tangible memory of the season.

• What is your favorite Skyforce memory?
While it was prior to having season tickets, my kids and I still laugh about the time Thunder jumped the row and sat next to me and wouldn't leave my hair alone - he was determined to give me a mohawk.

• If you had to choose, who would be your favorite Skyforce player of all-time?
There are so many great ones to choose from, so I'll defer to my son, who says Duncan Robinson.  As more recent picks, we were big Micah Potter and Mario Chalmers fans last season.

• Outside of basketball, what is your favorite thing about attending a Skyforce game?
The energy in the Pentagon on game nights is awesome.  It's the perfect balance of excitement, positivity, and non-stop action that can take even the most mundane day and turn it into a great one.  I love that for a couple hours you can leave the rest of the world outside and just enjoy being surrounded by hundreds of people cheering for the same team.

As a dad, I also appreciate the sportsmanship my kids see at Skyforce games.  I love that we are close enough to see the players from opposing teams wish each other good luck before the game, laugh together during the game even when they're fighting their hardest for the win, and the way the Skyforce players are never short on fist bumps for every staff member behind the desk.  That level of sportsmanship is not always common, but the Skyforce exemplify it and I could not ask for a better example for my kids to witness.
