Player Recap: Landon Kirkwood

From Skyforce tryouts in Miami, to earning a roster spot through the entirety of the 2022-23 season, Landon Kirkwood defied the odds.
He was selected with the sixth pick of the second round in the 2022 NBA G League Draft by the Force and showed substantial growth throughout the season.
In just his third professional game, Kirkwood would show out. He posted a professional career-high of 20 points on 7-10 FGA (6-7 3PA) and three rebounds in a sweep of the Fort Wayne Mad Ants. He would score 15 of his 20 points in the first half with five made three pointers.
He would follow that up with 17 points on 6-14 FGA (5-11 3PA) and three rebounds in the team's next game against the Windy City Bulls. In the second game of the back-to-back, he secured a Showcase Cup high of nine rebounds, while added seven points in the victory.
Kirkwood posted 15 points on 5-11 FGA and three rebounds on Nov. 29 in Cleveland, which rounded out his top performances in the Showcase Cup. In games where he played 20-plus minutes, he averaged 11.0 points on 43.1 percent shooting. He posted four games with multiple three-point makes in that portion of the season, as well.
In Sioux Falls' first regular season game, Kirkwood posted 15 points on 6-9 FGA (3-6 3PA) and three rebounds in just 17 minutes at the Oklahoma City Blue on Dec. 27.
On Feb. 5, he secured 14 points on 4-8 FGA and a career-high five assists against Birmingham. On Feb. 10, he provided 19 points on 7-12 FGA (5-8 3PA) and a career-high 11 rebounds in a victory at the Westchester Knicks in a career-high 41 minutes played. It also marked Kirkwood's first double-double of his professional career.

In games where he played 15 plus minutes, he averaged 10.5 points on 37.1 percent shooting in the regular season. The Force was 5-2 when Kirkwood netted two-plus three point makes in the regular season.
