Player Recap: Jon Elmore

After spending his first three professional seasons overseas, Elmore returned stateside and proved he belonged in the NBA G League.

He provided highlight plays on the regular and helped pace the Sioux Falls offense in numerous capacities this season.

In 49 total Showcase Cup and regular season games, Elmore averaged 9.6 points on 42.7 percent (40.3 percent from deep), 3.8 rebounds and 5.2 assists per 25.5 minutes a game in reserve and starting roles this season.

In a back-to-back at Cleveland on Nov. 29 and 30, Elmore combined for 38 points on 11-23 FGA (4-12 3PA), 15 rebounds and 15 assists.

On Dec. 10 vs Motor City, Elmore posted 16 points on 5-7 3PA and nine assists, as well, which rounded out his top scoring outpours in the Showcase Cup portion of the season.

In a Jan. 4 victory over the Texas Legends, he posted 21 points on 5-8 3PA and seven rebounds, which was one of 19 times scoring in double figures in the regular season.

In the month of February, he would score in double figures seven-of-nine times and had 10 assists on Feb. 10, followed by 14 on Feb. 13.

On Mar. 4, with 16 dimes, Elmore posted the most assists in a game since Larry Drew III's franchise record of 23.

Jon found consistency throughout the remainder of the regular season, scoring in double figures in the last 11 games, which was highlighted by a season-high 26 points on 7-10 3PA, seven rebounds and seven assists on Mar. 12. From Mar. 3 to the end of the regular season, he secured eight games (10 appearances) of seven-plus assists.

He averaged 10.5 points on 45.7 percent shooting (42.1 percent from deep), 5.6 assists, 3.8 rebounds and 1.5 steals per 26.6 minutes in 31 regular season games.

In the two playoff victories, Elmore would combine for 12 assists, eight rebounds, four steals and a plus-12 plus-minus.

In the grind and roster change in a G League season, Elmore played his best basketball down the stretch and was a pivotal asset. His three-point shot making ability in the last 10 games (31-69 3PA on 45.0 percent shooting) helped push the Force to the playoffs.
