One Minute with Justin Champagnie

Justin Champagnie was signed by the Skyforce on January 10^th, 2023, and made an immediate impact for the Force in the 2022-23 regular season. He appeared in 23 games and made 15 starts, averaging 18.2 points per game on 52.2% shooting while grabbing 8.1 rebounds per game. His performance helped the team on a playoff run to the western conference finals. Champagnie was then signed to the Boston Celtics playoff roster where he appeared in 4 games.

The 22-year-old forward out of the University of Pittsburgh returned to the Skyforce this season and has picked up right where he left off, averaging 20.6 points per game, 9.1 rebounds per game and 2.4 steals per game. In the Force’s most recent matchup against the Gold, Justin had 20 points and 15 rebounds to help earn a 123-112 win at home.

My favorite genre of music is rap and my favorite artist right now is YoungBoy.

Favorite TV show or movie of all time?
My favorite TV show of all time is Tom and Jerry, and my favorite movie is Transformers.

Funniest teammate?
Man-Man and B McCoy. Two of the funniest guys I know 100%.

Why do you wear #11?
It’s a special number to me. I wore it in college and played well and my girlfriend was #11 in college so it’s special to us.

Favorite basketball game you’ve played in?
When I was in high school we played in a triple overtime game against our rival school at their crib in the playoffs. It was a packed stadium and we won. Christ the King vs Bishop Loughlin best game ever.
