One Minute with DJ Stewart

In his second year with the Sioux Falls Skyforce, DJ Stewart has been sensational. The forward out of Mississippi State is averaging 23.4 points, 4.0 rebounds, 3.2 assists and 1.6 steals per game. He is also shooting an efficient 48.3% from the field and 33.3% from deep.
Thursday against the Lakeland Magic, Stewart recorded his first double-double of the regular season. He scored 17 points, marking his 11th game this season in double-digits, and 10 assists - a new career high for Stewart.
We sat down with the Grace, Mississippi native to learn more about the man who has dominated the G League the past two seasons.
Who is your biggest role model? My biggest role model is my father.
Do you have a secret talent nobody knows about? I wouldn’t say it’s a secret, but I’m real nice at Call of Duty.
If you weren’t playing basketball, what would you be doing? If I wasn’t playing basketball, I would probably have kept playing football. I would’ve played my senior year in high school.
What are your favorite shoes? Off the court, Ugg Slippers. On the court, KDs, sometimes Kobe’s.
Do you play any video games? Yes. I play Call of Duty and GTA.
What is your favorite music? Hip-Hop. My favorite all-time artist is Lil Wayne.
What is your favorite sport other than basketball? Football. I’m a big football guy.
What is your favorite food? I’d say pasta. Any type of pasta. Hot sauce on everything.
What is your favorite thing about Sioux Falls? It gives me small town vibes. I’m from a smaller town so I feel like I’m at home.
Who is your NBA GOAT? Kobe Bryant.
Do you have a favorite player in the NBA? Kevin Durant.
Who is your favorite Skyforce teammate? I love all my guys the same.
