It's a 2023 NBA G League Playoffs rematch today at the Sanford Pentagon, with the Salt Lake City Stars visiting the Sioux Falls Skyforce.
The Skyforce edged the Stars 115-107 in the opening round of the playoffs a season ago, as Orlando Robinson powered the team with 31 points and 12 rebounds.
Robinson, again led the Skyforce, on Friday, with a career-high 41 points and 13 rebounds (his seventh consecutive double-double), as they were able to defeat the Birmingham Squadron 121-116 for the team's fifth-straight victory. Justin Champagnie added 26 points, five assists and five steals in the winning effort, as well.
A victory today would tie a G League franchise record of best record to start the regular season, with the 2018-19 Skyforce going 6-0 to start the campaign.
The Stars, who were defeated by the Rip City Remix 126-122 in their most recent game, feature former Skyforce big man Micah Potter. Potter, who's on the second season of a two-way contract with the Utah Jazz, is currently averaging 14.3 points on 54.3 percent shooting and 6.5 rebounds.
The Skyforce finishes three games (two on the road) in six days, on Tuesday, with a match-up against the Memphis Hustle. Tip-off is slated for 7:00 PM CST, followed by a back-to-back against the Austin Spurs next weekend at the Sanford Pentagon.
