The Sioux Falls Skyforce looks to bounce back from two-straight home losses, tonight in the series finale against the Lakeland Magic.
The Skyforce were able to build a 96-92 lead with 4:19 left in the contest but was outscored 12-6 in the closing minutes to suffer the 104-100 loss to the Magic. HEAT two-way player Jamal Cain (36 points on 12-21 FGA, career-high 4-5 3PA, 14 rebounds and three steals) secured his third-straight game of 20-plus points and 12-plus rebounds. Cain is currently averaging 14.5 rebounds per game in the regular season, which is good for second in the NBA G League.
Jamaree Bouyea added 19 points on 7-11 FGA, six rebounds and six assists, as well, for Sioux Falls. Sioux Falls looks to improve on its free throw shooting, as the team is shooting 56 percent (37-66 FTA) in the last four games. The Force averages an NBA G League low 12.7 turnovers per contest, committed a team-high 22 on Tuesday.
In his first game with Lakeland on assignment, Caleb Houstan had 24 points on 6-14 FGA and nine rebounds. Zavier Simpson added 2 points and eight assists, while Jay Scrubb rounded up top scorers for the Magic with 20 points and 12 rebounds. Jonathan Isaac, 2017 NBA lottery pick, is scheduled to appear for Lakeland tonight after missing Tuesday's game. Isaac is rehabbing an injury suffered in the 2020 NBA Bubble.
The Skyforce hosts the Austin Spurs on Tuesday at 6:30 PM CST, while the Magic travels to face the Maine Celtics at 6:00 PM CST on Saturday in Portland, ME.
