Game Preview: Skyforce vs Kings

The Stockton Kings defeated the Sioux Falls Skyforce 125-117 on Friday evening on the first night of a back-to-back from the Sanford Pentagon. 

Despite the loss, the first overall seed in the Western Conference and NBA G League is still up for grabs, as teams in the West fight for the final two playoff spots. 

Stockton (23-10) was led by Stanley Johnson, who had 32 points on 12-20 FGA, 10 rebounds and seven assists. Sacramento two-way player Mason Jones added 23 points, seven rebounds and 11 assists in the winning effort. 

Miami HEAT two-way player Cole Swider notched his third game of 30+ points scored, as he had 33 points on 8-11 3PA and 11 rebounds. Fellow two-way player Alondes Williams added 25 points, seven rebounds and six assists for Sioux Falls (22-11).

Stockton took the first half 59-51, as Johnson, Jones and Jalen Slawson combined for 38 points on 14-26 FGA. 

Despite trailing by as many as 17 points in the second half, the Skyforce was able to cut the deficit to six points on four occasions in the final frame. Brian Bowen netted 12 points on 5-7 FGA in the last 12 minutes of the contest to help secure the victory for the Kings. 

HEAT assignee Orlando Robinson had 15 points on 7-14 FGA, 11 rebounds and two blocks. Josh Christopher and Malik Williams combined for 31 points off the bench to round out top performers for Sioux Falls.

Both the Skyforce and Kings await their playoff fate, with their semifinals matchups to be determined.
