Showcase Preview

The Skyforce comes into the second game of the 2021 NBA G League Showcase off a 91-87 victory over the Stockton Kings. The team changes their focus to the Austin Spurs, who have won their last five games before starting the 2021-22 regular season.

Brandon Knight (25 points on 7-19 FGA, five assists and four steals) led Sioux Falls (2-9) in scoring for the fifth time this season in the victory over Stockton. It also marked the sixth time he has scored 20-plus points and the fifth time in his last six games. DJ Stewart added a career-high 20 points on 7-17 FGA with a career tying eight rebounds in the victory, as well.

Trey Mourning (13 points on 5-13 FGA and career-high 16 rebounds) and Micah Potter (15 points and 16 points) combined for 32 rebounds, the most of a duo in any game this season. Mourning also had all eight offensive rebounds for Sioux Falls The victory marked the first time that the Skyforce has won while trailing at the half and after three quarters during the Showcase Cup.

The contest with Austin marks the first time the organizations will compete since February 25, 2020, when Sioux Falls defeated the Spurs 100-99 behind 24 points from Jarrett Jack.

Austin is coming off a 118-89 victory over G League Ignite on Monday in the Showcase, where Josh Primo led the way with 23 points, six rebounds and four assists. Devontae Cacok added 20 points and 12 rebounds.
