Palo Continues to Thrive Despite Recent Skyforce Struggles

In the midst of a difficult stretch of games for the Sioux Falls Skyforce, NBA G League veteran Bubu Palo is playing the best basketball of his career. Over his last three games, Palo has averaged 27.7 points, 8.7 assists and 7.0 rebounds per contest while shooting 50.0 percent from three-point range and 82.1 percent from the free throw line.

On top of posting monster numbers, Palo has achieved two separate career-highs within the past three games. On Friday, March 15 Palo knocked down a career-best 16 free throws in the loss to the Stars, finishing a perfect 16-of-16 from the line in the game. He had entered the game needing seven free throws to pass Skyforce Hall of Famer David Bailey (642) for the most free throws made in franchise history. Palo now stands alone at the top with 662 in his career.

Additionally, Palo knocked down a career-high five three-pointers in Sunday’s game against the Memphis Hustle. He finished the game one rebound shy of his first-career triple-double, totaling 33 points, 10 assists and nine rebounds on the night.

Palo is putting up some of the best numbers of his career, and continues to add to his Skyforce franchise legacy now in his fifth season in Sioux Falls. He’s played at the same speed in all five of those seasons, and as the veteran continues to have an impact on the court, he has seen his name rise in the franchise rankings as well.
