SIOUX FALLS, SD – The Sioux Falls Skyforce announced today that the organization will host Military Night for their game against the Delaware 87ers on Friday, November 10 at 7:00 PM at the Sanford Pentagon. The game will serve as the focal point for Hoops for Troops Week in the NBA, which celebrates both past and present men and women of service to our country.
Military Veterans, both past and present, are offered free tickets to Friday night’s game. The Skyforce will don military themed jerseys, which will be auctioned off during the game with all proceeds going to Operation Cares.
In March of 2003, the Skyforce created a charity to benefit family members of soldiers who were sent overseas for service. Operation Cares was launched with the help of over 20 Sioux Falls businesses, and has raised and distributed over $200,000. All proceeds work toward helping military families cover everyday expenses like car repairs, purchasing groceries, home repairs, etc.
The game will also feature an officer-led commitment to service ceremony at halftime, with young men and women from the Marines and U.S. Airforce, as well as the Army and Navy pledging their service to our country.
To purchase tickets in support of this year’s Military Night, or to any other game this season, contact a Skyforce representative at 605-332-0605.
