Magic rookie Stephen Zimmerman played just one season at UNLV before entering the 2016 NBA Draft. However, during that season he was teammates with current Skyforce guard Ike Nwamu, who was a senior at the time.

Zimmerman averaged 10.5 points and 8.7 rebounds in his time at UNLV, while Nwamu averaged 11.4 points, 3.2 rebounds and 1.6 assists per game.

The Magic called up Jonathan Kerner from the Skyforce during the 1998-99 season, accounting for the only call-up between the two organizations. Kerner appeared in only one game while with the Magic.
