The Hornets signed Skyforce guard Briante Weber to back-to-back 10-day contracts, and then ultimately signed him to a multi-year contract on March 19, 2017. Weber has appeared in 13 games with the Hornets so far this season and has averaged 3.9 points, 1.6 rebounds and 1.3 assists in just over 12 minutes per game.

On April 11, Weber put up a season-high 10 points to go along with three assists and a steal in 24 minutes off the bench in the Hornets’ loss to the Atlanta Hawks.

In addition to Weber, assistant coach Pat Delaney joined the Hornets in July of 2014 after serving as the head coach of the Skyforce during the 2013-14 season. The Skyforce made the playoffs and finished with a 29-21 regular season record under Delaney.
